The most common flea is the CAT FlEA also known as  Ctenocephalides felis is an extremely parasitic insect which can live on cats , dogs, humans , rabbits and other animals . (Dog fleas can only live on Dogs , Wolves and Foxes.) The life cycle of the flea is quite simple Egg,Larva, Cocoon, ADULT. The life cycle can be very quick or can last months to Years depending on the environmental conditions.

Fleas can lay dormant in carpets for months for example in an empty house , however as soon as a human enters the house the fleas can detect (carbon monoxide) and know that there is a presence and will almost immediately become active . It is because of this that fleas are HARD to kill in a empty property .

F & D Pest control have many years experience of dealing with fleas and in 2023 underwent further training in order to be up to date with the latest equipment / chemicals in order to give the best possible outcome when treating fleas.

In ALL cases any property that is treated will have to be treated TWICE If the property is empty then someone will need to enter the property every 3 days in order for the chemicals to work . If the property is occupied then the chemicals are sprayed with a return visit 14 days following the first application . Whilst the property is undergoing treatment is is advisable that Staff / homeowners are NOT in the same room that is undergoing treatment .

The latest treatment include ULV Machines and or the use of the latesteslicensed chmicals only available to qualified Pest controllers who are usually member of the PROMPT register .
